| | My dad's sister (Aunt Patty) and her husband (Uncle Matt) and child (Krista) came down for the weekend.
Friday - We picked them up at the airport in the evening, then ate dinner at El Paseo's.
Satuday - We left for San Antonio. We took my dad's Suburban, the car I WILL have one day. Front Seats=My Daddy and Uncle Matt Middle (Back) Seats=Aunt Patty and My Mom Back (Very Back) Seats=Me, Krista, and Karen. At some point, Krista decided to move between my mom and aunt, and in doing so, I got more space. Hee hee. During the whole trip, I was the only one of the original people in the very back to not change seats. Anyways, we got there about, eh, at some time in the afternoon. My sister was asleep, so I told her we were in El Paso. She believed me. That day, we went to the Alamo and the RiverWalk/RiverCenter. At the RiverCenter (the mall), there was a Claires that I was dragged into. They had those wrist glove things that Starr has! I bought 3 (Black+White(wearing those now), Black+Red, Black+Light Blue). There was a motion simulator at one side that people went on. I get sick easily, so I hung out the in arcade across the hall. I played DDR and people were watching me! It was cool. We spent the night in a suite. Don't ask me why, but my parents decided to get 2 suites for us.
Sunday - Today we went to the Mexican Market. Let's see...I got a black poncho thingie that looks really cool and a black beaded thing that covers just by chest. Did I get anything else? ...nope, don' think so. Then, after everything was said and done, we had lunch at La Margarita. Afterwards, we walked to a 1700's mansion that my aunt wanted to see. There was this really pretty garden there that I spent my whole time in. Afterwards, we started back to Fort Worth. There was an outlet mall on the way back that we stopped at. I looked really weird in Limited Too (was dragged in there). The only thing I bought was a new headset because my old ones were and have been crappy. These ones have bass boost, so it's cool. We got home...at some form of time.
Monday - Ah, the fun day. Today, we drove down to Glen Rose to go tubing and to go to Fossil Rim. Once we saw how low the river was, we said screw tubing. The last time I went to Fossil Rim was Spring Break, where there was a crapload of people there! It was sooo empty! It is important to this story to point out that my mom, aunt, and the cashier were having a discussion on whether or not husbands counted as children. The cashier said they counted as pets, and everyone laughed. To let everyone have window access, we put the middle seats flat down. My mom drove, Uncle Matt sat beside here, my sister, Krista, and I sat where the seats were down and my dad and Aunt Patty sat in the back seats. Obviously, the first thing we see is...an ostrich, now christened "Bird of Doom". It seriously stalks the car for food. I was scared, but laughing at how funny it was. We rolled up our window on that one. There was another one right before we ended where Krista wouldn't let me roll my windows up, so I was really scared. But, now the the highlight of the day. About halfway between the starting point the the Overlook (the halfway point), OUR CAR BROKE DOWN! It just flat out died! We couldn't get out because there were a bunch of hungry goats outside the truck. Okay, okay, they weren't really goats, they were Addax. I had to go look that up. Here's a picture:

Those horns are as hard as steel. They started pawing at the car. Luckily, however, a Tour Bus was right behind us at radioed for help. About 5min later, we saw the truck. They gave us a jump to get us to the repair shop. We then met and talked to the Director of Matenience. I don't remember his name, but I remember his kids' names! Grace, Jaden, and Jeffory. Haha! After about 15min, we were charged up enough so we could drive into Glen Rose and to the repair shop, Spike's. We ate lunch next door at Hammond's. Afterwards, we walked (more like ran) across the highway to the internet cafe, but it was shut down. Next door there was a nail salon. Krista had always wanted her nails done, so she did. Aunt Patty and I waited there with her and the rest ran back over to Hammonds. She got bright hot pink and white flowers on her thumbs. We joined the rest at Hammonds. After waiting, the car was fixed. It needed a new alterator (which they had) and a battery cell had died, so they fixed that, too. We drove back to Fossil Rim and resumed our trip. The cashier remembered us and let us back through. Nothing exciting happened the rest of the day.
Tuesday - Today we went to the Texas Motor Speedway. When we got there, we learned that they were all booked up with group tours for that day, but they had one spot for 9am tomorrow. We stayed around the gift shop for awhile and...shopped. About 15min later, the group that was supposed to be there at noon still wasn't there. We got there about noon. They asked us if we still wanted to go, so we got to! Yay!!! It was fun. We drove around the track and got to go inside Victory Lne and up in a suite. Ah, fun time. It was really kewl. Afterwards, we went to Babe's. They don't have a really big lunch crowd, so it was pretty empty. They're more a dinner place. After we finished, we started picking random songs from the jukebox and Krista and I started dancing to them. We went to Albertsons afterwards to get stuff for a pizza. I got a french vanilla cappuchino from StarBucks, more black eyeliner that I had ran out of, and black nail polish. At the self check-out, my mom and Aunt Patty started fighting over who would pay. It was hilarious! Aunt Patty won and paid for the stuff. We had pizza that night.
Wednesday - We left for the airport around 11am, but there was a HUGE backup on some road, so we got off on some road, got onto another road, ended up on some road, then got to the airport! They literally ran in to the airport because their plane was boarding in a few minutes. There wasn't a line at security, so they zipped through and got on the plane. If we had waiting in the traffic, they would've missed their plane. Oh well. |
